Need A Lawyer Experienced In Taser Litigation?
I was tasered last Feb. while pointing a gun at myself. VERY stupid, I’ve since quit drinking. The officer was 4′ away. The 1st thing that happens is your muscles contract, specifically the fingers. The officer could see my finger on the trigger and should not have tasered me. I spent 3 weeks in the hospital, blew the right side of my mouth out and lost 3 upper teeth, along with $21,000 in medical bills insurance didn’t cover. The lawyers here know everyone or are related, this is a small town and no one has the guts to take this on. Thanks for any help.

Sounds like you should find a lawyer that specializes in helping people sue themselves.
You’re drunk, depressed holding a gun to your mouth or face. Been doing that long enough for the Police to come and confront you. Police Taser you and you only shoot out a few teeth and some of your face.
Now the cop is at fault because he was trying to keep you from killing yourself. You apparently didn’t listen when he told you to drop the gun and I’d bet he did that plenty before he tasered you.
You should get on your knees and thank the man because you are alive. You think he wanted to be there doing what he had to do to save you? If he hadn’t tasered you, would it have been a “Mexican Standoff” until you pointed your gun at him for a little suicide by cop?
YOU pulled all this crap and the results are YOUR fault. Grow up and take the blame. You don’t need a lawyer, you need some other professional help. YOU did it to YOU so quit whining and deal with YOUR actions.
Shut up and take your lumps like a man. You put yourself in that situation. You should be grateful all the cop did was taser you. You could very well have been shot.

Go to the closest big town and look in the yellow pages or call an attorney referral service.
But honestly, the reason no lawyer in your town is willing to take this case is because they know it’s impossible to win. You will lose your money and they will lose their reputation. So be very careful.
A drunk with a loaded gun. Pointed at his own head and God knows where else. Be thankful you only got hit with the taser and a near miss by your own weapon. Give it up. This is a no win proposition on your part.

You drew a gun and aimed it at yourself with intent to do harm. The general feeling is that if you have an intention to do serious bodily harm to yourself, you will have no problem at all doing severe bodily harm to another. To be very honest, as a police officer, if I were dealing with a gunman I wouldn’t have the TASER out. A TASER is a good tool, but no match for a gun. The officer was trying to save your life… and even though you had a tragedy for which I feel great sympathy… he may have prevented something worse from happening. Please remember that it wasn’t the officer’s fault. He has a job to do and a life to support.

How many times did the Officer tell you to put down the weapon?
I don’t know of a lawyer that would take that on. However, I’m going to throw in that if you win one red cent, Karma can be a real *****.

it sucks dude by he was doing his job and the most time their trying to make it home alive to their own family.They dont want to get hurt any more then you do and your brought it apown yourself.
